How much does a translation cost?

The cost of a professional translation is influenced by several key factors. Understanding these elements will help you better understand the pricing of our services.

Factors determining the cost of a translation

1. Text volume

The number of words to be translated is a key factor in determining the price.

The larger the volume of content to be translated, the more advantageous the pricing conditions can be. We provide volume-based discounts for larger projects, helping you reduce costs without compromising on quality or consistency. It’s our way of rewarding long-term partnerships and high-volume collaborations.

2. Language combination

The source and target language pair has a significant impact on the rate. For example:

A translation from French into English will generally be less expensive than a translation from Arabic into Korean.

At Birdwell, our translators work exclusively into their mother tongue, guaranteeing optimal quality. This approach may influence rates and deadlines.

We offer over 100 language combinations to meet your needs.

3. Area of specialization

The complexity of the subject and the level of expertise required affect the translation cost:

A technical or highly specialised text will require special skills, potentially resulting in a higher price.

For example, translating an article on medical robotics could be more expensive than translating a tourist brochure.

4. Specific requirements

Certain elements may give rise to additional costs:

Special formatting.

Urgent delivery or delivery on public holidays.

Sworn translations.

By taking these factors into account, we can provide a precise quote which is tailored to your specific needs.
